Adidas Originals

When Adolf Dassler, along with his brother Rudolf, began making his first shoes in 1920 he had one aim - to provide every athlete with the best possible footwear for his respective discipline. It was this principle that guided him until his death in 1978. Over seven hundred patents worldwide are proof of his permanent quest for perfection.

After the Second World War, Adolf Dassler made a fresh start. A split from his brother came about (Rudolf Dassler left to set up the company known as Puma today) - and in 1948 the Adidas company name as we know it was formed: "Adi" being Adolf's nickname and "Das" from Dassler. One year later the unmistakable 'three stripes' were registered to the newly formed Adidas company. These three stripes have been used on Adidas footwear ever since.

Adidas Originals is the heritage line of Adidas and uses the back catalogue of Adidas to reference and re-issue rarities and forgotten classics from both the footwear and apparel collections. You will see footwear, tracktops and jackets that have formed Adidas' rich history from the 1940s through to the 1980s reworked for todays market.

This season we are particularly pleased to stock both the Gazelle OG, a re-issue of the 1968 classic and the Gazelle Indoor, a 1970's reworking of the Gazelle OG. We are also proud to stock a lightweight running shoe using elements from the rich heritage of the ZX series, the Adistar Racer. New footwear styles for Philip Browne Menswear Spring/Summer '13 include the ever popular Rom and Samba in fresh colourways for the upcoming season.
