Kanye West Invests In Vintage Vivienne Westwood

Posted by Bill Savory on

Since 1989, we have been a proud stockist of Vivienne Westwood. We were one of only 5 independent stockists in the country. During our history as a menswear retailer, the avant garde designer has consistently caught attention with provocative collections that have challenged the system.

2015 saw Kanye West enter our mix of brands with his bold first collection with adidas, Yeezy Season One. The huge response to this collection has caught the attention of fans and footwear collectors all over the globe.

It makes sense then that Kanye West should be a fan of Vivienne Westwood’s designs. He was spotted this year purchasing an archive Shearling Buffalo Mud Coat, a design which first appeared on the catwalks as far back as Vivienne Westwood’s 1982 Nostalgia of Mud collection.

We stocked the iconic sheepskin coat as part of our 2003 MAN collections. Two jackets were bought, one to sell and one that has remained a part of Philip Browne’s private collection since. We believe that only ten were made for the entire UK market, making this an extremely rare collectable museum piece.

Customers of our Norwich store will recognise this piece as it hangs on display inside the shop. We have had various official members of the Vivienne Westwood UK team come to examine it for research purposes. We are advised that this exceptional piece, as worn by Kanye West, is valued at £3000.

This is a rare opportunity to acquire an historic garment and nod to the style of two fashion powerhouses of 2015, Vivienne Westwood and Kanye West.

We invite serious offers which truly reflect the value of this museum standard piece, more pictures and information here. Please contact us if you would like further details.
