One of the most anticipated Asics footwear drops of the year is now available - the collaboration with Comme des Garçons on the now classic Gel-Lyte III.
This exclusive edition from Asics and CDG celebrates the 30th anniversary of the silhouette and was first seen at the Comme des Garçons SHIRT catwalk show in Paris in January of this year.
Utilising the original Asics last and detailing from the 1990s, this new execution has premium suede panels over a multicolour camouflage mesh upper and reflective detailing at the toe and heel.
The forked tongue (that avoids the lateral movement of more conventional tongues and provides a better fit) and GEL cushioning that have always been a feature of the Gel-Lyte series remain on this model. If you're an Asics aficionado then you'll notice a little quirk of the now-iconic forked tongue - usually the slit design sits perfectly in the middle with a small gap to keep your foot cool. On this model the two sides asymmetrically overlap slightly which is a lovely little detail for all you Asics-heads out there.
Subtle Comme des Garçons logos at the heel and on the sockliner complete this great addition to the Gel-Lyte III stable.
