Carol Christian Poell Black Horse Leather Jacket 2010
Carol Christian Poell Black Horse Leather Jacket 2010

Here we have an incredibly unique piece made by Carol Christian Poell from 2010. It's constructed using horse leather. Featuring a high neck collar, raised flap zip pockets and a slim fit.

Poell's avant garde design and approach to garment experimentation, manufacturing and dying processing paved the way for other fashion houses to follow suit in their creative approach.

He has been revered from his first collection back in 1995, described as having a "unique vision".  His pieces bridge gaps between fashion and art, most notably seen in his shoe designs. His performative approaches to his shows are akin to a conceptual thought process that seem to challenge conventional thinking within the industry. His summer 2004 show titled "Mainstream, Downstream" saw models floating in the Milano Naviglio Grande Canal.
